Our History

Currently, we are expanding our outreach to Western New York and merging with an innovative organization, Children's Development Group that specializes in family therapy and early childhood development.

In July of 2020 we changed our name to "Families At A Crossroad," expanding our mission to reach Families in a holistic manner through additional housing, economic independence (see Families Empowerment Centers,) and  improve the lives of children of all ages through therapy and a fun filled learning experience where tolerance and acceptance are valued.

In 2019 and 2018, Sisters expanded its Board and opened Offices and an Educational Center in Elizabethtown, NY.  Sisters under Joan's guidance expanded its outreach throughout Essex County.

Mrs. Cunningham is well known in the region for assisting Domestic Violence Families. In late 2017, the Guttenberg Family moved to New Mexico and contacted Joan Cunningham to take over the Charity.

In 2015, Sisters at a Crossroad was founded by The Guttenberg Family to assist Domestic Violence Victims & their families with long-term housing.
