Our History

In 2015, Sisters at a Crossroad was founded by The Guttenberg Family to assist Domestic Violence Victims & their families with long-term housing.

In late 2017, the Guttenberg Family moved to New Mexico and contacted Joan Cunningham to take over the Charity.

Mrs. Cunningham is well known in the region for assisting Domestic Violence Families. Over the past two years, Sisters under Joan's guidance has expanded its outreach throughout Essex County.

In 2018 and 2019, Sisters expanded its Board and opened Offices and an Educational Center in Elizabethtown, NY.

In 2020, we are changing our name to "Families At A Crossroad," expanding our mission to reach Families in a holistic manner through additional housing (see Families Empowerment Centers, economic independence and merging with an innovative organization that specializes in family therapy and early childhood development (Children's Development Group.)
